Vanity, Thy Name is Sue

I think I've gone to new lengths. Remember, we're talking about the person who had their passport photo taken at least 3 times before finally applying for a passport. And I'm still stuck for a few more years with a photo I hate. sigh.

Anyway, I've spoken several times lately to my nocturnal caller, who now mostly remembers time zones and calls when I'm awake. He sent me a letter with a recent picture of himself and now I have to send a recent one of me to him. //cough// I emailed him my Blogger profile pic but I want a better one. So far I have coloured my hair and bought new clothes (shirt and pants, even though I don't plan to send a full length pic). I am now considering getting my hair cut at an actual salon instead of the cheapo place or doing it myself like usual. All for a pic that I'm sending far away to someone I most likely won't see any time soon.

On the other hand, talking to him has made me incredibly happy, so a little pampering probably won't hurt. It's funny, I can't remember the last time I was this happy (or bought new clothes, but that's a whole different post). I've actually made an attempt to clean the house, like really clean it and I don't feel the usual depressed "where the hell do I start" business. Weird, but I'm loving it.

  • All right, spill it. Who is this "nocturnal caller" who has aroused your vanity so? Little sisters need to know these things, you know, or else we spontaneously conbust from the pressure of our curiosity.

  • LOL! Someone I met a long, long time ago in a galaxy far away . . .

No, wait, wrong life; that should be "a country" far away. And I was wearing "that shirt" mentioned back here. I've wondered what he was up to now and then, so I sent a letter awhile back. He called, we've been talking, hopefully one of us will go in one direction or the other soon and have a visit. Suffice it to say Mum will probably not be pleased . . .
    How's that for a teaser?
